Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information nexusnetworking.com.au collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Who we are
nexusnetworking.com.au is the website of BNI Nexus West, a BNI chapter of business owners who meet every Tuesday morning in Melbourne’s inner west. The site is operated and maintained by Seddon Digital Pty Ltd on behalf of the chapter.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you have a question about this policy, or about the information we hold on you, use the privacy request form at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
When you contact us or register to visit
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, phone number and your message. Our visitor registration form asks for your full name, email address, phone number and which meeting you would like to come to, and optionally the type of business you are in. You decide what to tell us, but we need enough to reply to you and to know to expect you at a meeting.
Our member directory
Chapter members have their name, business name, industry, phone number, email address, website, photo and a short profile published on this site. Members give us these details so that people can find and contact them, so this information is public by design. A member can ask us to change or remove their listing at any time.
There is also a member contact list on this site behind a chapter code. It is not indexed by search engines and is meant for members only.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our web server records things such as your IP address, your browser and device type, the pages you visit, and the date and time you visited. Our hosting, security and caching software uses this to serve the site and to block abuse.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site, for example which pages get read and which ones do not. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information including your IP address, your general location, your device and browser, and the pages you view.
Google Tag Manager is used to load and manage that analytics tag. Tag Manager does not itself collect personal information, it decides which measurement tags run on a page.
We look at this in aggregate. We do not use it to work out who you are, and we do not run advertising or remarketing on this site.
If you would rather not be counted, you can install Google’s browser opt-out add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally either way.
Why we collect it
- To answer your enquiry and arrange your visit to a meeting
- To run the chapter’s member directory
- To keep the site working, fast and secure
- To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it
- To meet our obligations as a chapter of BNI
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for marketing.
We do share it with the services that make the site run:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC), for website analytics
- Google Tag Manager (Google LLC), which loads the analytics tag
- Postmark (ActiveCampaign), to deliver email sent from the site
- Our web host and Seddon Digital Pty Ltd, who build and maintain the site
We also share visitor and member information with BNI. Nexus is a chapter of BNI, and visitor and member details are recorded in BNI’s own systems, including BNI Connect, so that visits, membership applications and referral activity can be tracked. BNI is a global organisation and those systems are based overseas, mainly in the United States. BNI handles that information under its own privacy policy. Google and Postmark also store and process information outside Australia.
By registering to visit, or by joining the chapter, you consent to your information being handled this way.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and registrations for as long as we need them to deal with you and to keep a record of who has visited the chapter, and we delete them once they are no longer needed. Member listings stay up while that person is a member of the chapter, and come down when they leave.
Keeping it safe
The site runs over an encrypted connection, is kept up to date, and sits behind a firewall with malware scanning. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Seeing your information, and correcting it
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the privacy request form below and we will come back to you. We may need to confirm who you are first.
If you are a member and your listing is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
If you are not happy
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, use the form below and tell us what has gone wrong. We will look into it and come back to you.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever the way we handle information changes. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
Make a privacy request
Ask us what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or raise a concern. Tell us what you need and we will come back to you.
